Claire Conger

I am a journalist and a recent University of Oregon alumnus. My degree in journalism and French enabled me to immerse myself in written and spoken language.

I spent my 3rd year of college studying in Paris, France at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (SciencesPo) where I took journalism, urban sociology, humanities, and French classes with students from around the world. This was an incredible opportunity to grow and study alongside students with diverse experiences and perspectives, and a similar passion for languages, cultural immersion, and journalism.

From the fall of 2025 to the spring of 2026, I worked as a language teaching assistant in a small city outside of Bordeaux. I collaborated with teachers at a middle school to create and deliver a language-learning curriculum for the 900+ students.

Going forward, I hope to continue my pursuit of journalism and written communication. Some of the subjects I am interested in writing about include community and local journalism, urban planning, climate change, food and culture, mental health, and social justice.
